For quite a while as of now, numerous massage therapists and bodyworkers were saying something like, \u201cUndress to your level of comfort.\u201d To be true, even me had fallen into starting the session with this phrase\u2026 But since then I\u2019ve learned to see it in a whole another light \u2013 as just way too vague.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newcomers to the world of massage have no idea what that means. Seriously, I\u2019ve been receiving bodywork for 5 years and I\u2019m not even sure what that means. (My personal \u201clevel of comfort\u201d as far as clothing goes typically involves a fluffy polar fleece sweatshirt and baggy, softer than soft sweatpants.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on this, here\u2019s some additional info that may help you decide what you want to wear (or maybe not) during a session:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firstly, no matter what, it\u2019s a rule that either a sheet or a blanket will always be covering your private parts. No professional masseur will ever let client to be left feeling exposed or chilly. As I will be going through the massage\u2019s progress, I will only uncover areas I am working on, one at a time, respecting and protecting your privacy at all times. When I work on an arm, I fold the sheet back and tuck it under your arm so it\u2019s comfy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I follow the same pattern for each leg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, do you feel like today should be your massage salon relaxation day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long story short, as a professional masseur I dig a variety of uber-effective massage techniques that can all be applied over the clothing. Those of you who have seen or met me at sporting events or other public onsite massage gigs are aware of it already!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If for any kind of the reason I feel I can\u2019t effectively treat your issue through the clothing which you\u2019re wearing at the moment, I\u2019ll tell you, and we\u2019ll figure out another approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But is there one garment of all which I will always ask you to remove?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Absolutely\u2026 That\u2019s your shoes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Especially if the weather outside has made them muddy or wet. This might seem like a no-brainer, but it may not sound like that to some\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So if there are any specific reasonable points you tell me about keeping them on, I don\u2019t mind about that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again, I can work around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All in all, here\u2019s one more really important thing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please know that regardless of your level of the dress you\u2019re wearing on the massage table, I never care about it and I\u2019m never judging you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The whole concept of the massage is about you and you only, so it\u2019s crucial that you feel comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For some people, that means leaving some clothing on. For others, it means taking it all off. Your preferences may vary from session to session as well. There is no right or wrong as it\u2019s your massage session.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
