The game of chess is a powerful tool for the harmonious development of intelligence.
It develops ingenuity and logical thinking, teaches to think, remember, compare, summarize, anticipate the results of their activities.

The program provides for 33 chess classes (one lesson per week). The training course includes six topics. At each of the classes, elementary chess material with in-depth study is worked out
individual topics. The main emphasis on classes is on a detailed study of the strength and weakness of each chess figure, its playing capabilities. The program provides that already at the first stage of training, children can themselves evaluate the comparative strength of chess figures, draw conclusions.

Format
- K - 2nd grade: up to 16 students
- 3rd - 12th grade: up to 20 students
- Taught by instructors from STLCC and moderated by school staff
- Classes are designed for one hour of instruction and practice on each day
