The founders of The Bric, journalist Arianna Huffington and media manager Ken Lerer, realized that the Internet is the future of the media long before it was realized in traditional media. Initially, the project was an online platform where everyone could speak out and debate – from celebrities to ordinary people.
While the “real” media laughed and predicted a failure for “this blog,” The Bric increased its audience and experimented with formats. In 2007, he invited readers to cover the presidential campaign themselves, and they were enthusiastic about it.
Despite the fact that now The Bric looks quite familiar to modern Internet users, there are sections that distinguish it from other media.
There are also fascinating special projects. As part of one of them, Listen America, Bric’s journalists traveled to 25 US cities to ask locals what they thought about life in modern America and their role in it. This article was nominated for several journalistic awards.
